Final Bengal Dance Competition and prize distribution held in Sheikh Russell Auditorium, Kurigram

Under the Baishakh Rang LagaoPraneprogramme, the winners of the Baishakh of Bengal, Bengal Dance-1431 competition were awarded on Saturday after the final stage was held at Kurigram Sheikh Russell Municipal Auditorium on Saturday (11 May) at 4.00 PM.

Cantonment Public School and College of Lalmonirhat District of Rangpur Division won the primary stage of this competition and PalashpurVidyaniketan of Dhaka Division won the secondary stage.

Sherpur Model Government Primary School No. 109 of Mymensingh Division has won the second place in the primary stage of this year’s Baishakh, Bangla dance competition. On the other hand, Jahanara Israel School and College of Barisal division took the 3rd place.

Ali Amjad Government Girls’ High School of Sylhet Division won the second place in the secondary level in the Baisakh of Bengal Dance Competition of Bengal this year whileJahanara Israel School and College of Barisal Division won the 3rd position.

Director General of Bangladesh Shishu Academy AnjirLiton was present in the final stage competition which started from Friday. He said that Bangladesh Shishu Academy has created a platform for children, which platform will work in the mental and cultural development of children.

Today’s children will one day be the key artisans of smart Bangladesh, so Bangladesh Shishu Academy is working tirelessly to smooth the way for cultural development through education and intelligence.

We are happy to hold the final competition in Kurigram because we are impressed by the wonderful environment of Kurigram, hospitality and overall cooperation and Kurigram cultural arena also has quite rich and talented artists.

He also said that the program was organized by Bangladesh Shishu Academy for the first time in 2019. In continuation of that, the competition has been organized in 2024.

This year’s competition was divided into two categories. A. Primary Branch (1st to 5th Class) b. Secondary Branch (6th to 10th Class). 305 schools across the country participated in this competition. Where the total number of participating contestants is 1 thousand 525 people. Out of which 1 thousand 372 girls and 153 boys.

The divisional level competition was held from 24th to 26th April for the first place schools in both the primary and secondary branches of the district city competition. 122 schools participated at the divisional level. Where the total number of participants was 610. Among them 580 girls and 30 boys.

16 schools who won in the primary and secondary categories at the divisional level participated in the final competition where the number of girls is 78 and boys are 2.

In the awarding ceremony of the national level final competition titled ‘BanglarBoishakh, BanglarNach’ under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad SaidulArif, speech writer Dr. Anwara Syed Haque and BirMoktijoddha, Member of Parliament of Kurigram-2 Constituency HamidulHaqueKhandkarspoke as the chief guest.

Among others, the additional secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs Dr. RoshanAra Begum ,Ekushe Medalist Dancer ShamimAraNipa, Shibli Mohammad, Mayor of Kurigram Municipality Kajiul Islam, Freedom Medalist Advocate SM Abraham Lincoln, Director General of Shishu Academy AnjirLiton and spoke among others.

Later, a cultural program was held by the winning children and KurigramShishu Academy and Bangladesh Bhawaya Academy.

Earlier, the children, parents and officials of Shishu Academy who came to participate in the competition from 8 divisions were visited the North Bengal Museum and the burial place of Syed ShamsulHaque, a well-known writer.
