Bamondanga Union Health and Family Welfare Center (UHFWC) under Sundarganjupazila in the district celebrated programmes for achieving 250th normal delivery very recently.
Officials sources said Bamondanga UHFWC and other 10 UHFWCs of the district are brought under Mamota Project, which is being implemented by Save the Children Bangladesh in partnership with SKS Foundation with the financial support of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with view to ensuring healthcare services to the maternal and newborn.
As the Bamondanga UHFWC had been facing manpower crisis since its establishment, need base staff are recruited under the project to provide healthcare services to the maternal and the newborn.
Under the activities of the project, the pregnant mothers and their guardians were made aware about ante natal care (ANC), post-natal care (PNC)and institutional delivery.
They were also made aware about home delivery and its bad impacts.
In response, the pregnant mothers come to the health and family welfare center and they are given ANC four times and same number of post-natal care (PNC) for smoothly normal delivery that started on January 02 in 2022.
At one stage, the number of normal delivery at Bamondanga UHFWC rose to 250 on May 03.
Marking the achievement of 250th normal delivery, the staff of Bamondanga UHFWC chalked out the programmes on Wednesday. The programmes included cutting cake, prizes distribution and discussion meeting.
Assistant director of family planning department Dr. Sekender Ali attended the discussion meeting as the chief guest and said through collective efforts of all the center has become one of the best centers in the district for ensuring 250 normal deliveries.
He also urged all the concerned to be more serious and to work sincerely to maintain the image of the center among the people. Project coordinator Baharam khan, upazila coordinator Farzana Sultana, team of Bamondanga UHFWC and the staff of the project were present on the occasion.
