A total of 134 more people were reported positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the district after testing 352 samples at Bogura TMSS Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory, SZRMC COVID-19 PCR laboratory , Mohammad Ali Hospital COVID-19 PCR  laboratory and  rapid antigen and Genexpert testing centers.

Of the new positive cases, 93 are in Sadar upazila, four in Adamdighi upazila, 10 in Shajahanpur upazila, six in Dhunat upazila, two in Gabtali upazila, two in Kahaloo upazila, four in Shibganj upazila, one in Sariakandi upazila, five in Dhupchanchia upazila, five in Sherpur upazila, one in Sonatala and one in Nandigram upazila of the district.

The infection rate is about 38 percent in the district, deputy civil surgeon of the district Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin said.

The total number of infected persons in the district stood at 13,839 and the number of recovery cases stood at 12,692, deputy civil surgeon of the district Dr Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin.

A total of 83 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the district.

Meanwhile, five people have died with coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours in the district, the deputy civil surgeon said.

A total of 397 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he added.

Deputy civil surgeon  Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Tuhinn  said infected 371 persons are now undergoing treatment at various Hospitals in the district, rest of the infected persons are now undergoing treatment at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.

The health expert of the district urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.

He urged everyone to be more aware to prevent this lethal infection.
