Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against Pabna-5 (Sadar) Constituency Member of Parliament Ghulam FaruquePrince’s personal assistant (PS) Russel Ali alias Sheikh Russel Ali Masood (VP Masood) and his wife Nasreen Akhtar for allegedly acquiring assets beyond the declared income.

Khairul Haque, Deputy Director of Anti-Corruption Commission, Pabna district office on Wednesday filed the case separately as the plaintiff.

Sheikh Russel Ali Masud is the Organisingsecretary of Pabna Sadar upazilaAwami League and his wife Nasreen Akhtar works as Community Health Care Provider (CHCP) of Pabna Sadar Upazila Health Complex.

According to the documents of the case, Sheikh Russel Ali Masud, special assistant to the Member of Parliament of Pabna-5 (Sadar) constituency and Organisingsecretary of Pabna Sadar upazilaAwami League, was ordered by the ACC to submit the asset statement. After giving the order to submit the statement of assets, he took out the statement of assets form with signature, but later he did not submit it within the stipulated time.

According to the ACC inquiry, information about his assets outside the known income was found. ACC found inconsistent assets of Tk 1,29,75,929 between his total income and movable and immovable assets.

On the other hand, Sheikh Russel Ali Masud’s wife Nasreen Akhtar was asked for her wealth statement by the commission. But even though she withdrew the form without submitting it to the commission, a case has been filed against her for the crime of enjoying wealth of Tk 27.2 lakh outside the known income.
