International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction-2024 was observed in Bogura district through some programmes at Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bogura on Monday.

Through a calling to remain always ready to control any type of disaster was marked the day with a theme of the day is “Empowering the Next Generation for Resilient Future.”

The district administration, district relief and rehabilitation office, information office, Fire and Civil Defense office have combinedly chalked out the programme in association with some other NGO and GO organisations in the same location.

In the very outset of the day, a rally was brought out from the premise of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and later a discussion on the day was held in the same venue.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)of Bogura Meshbaul Karim was present and addressed in the programme as the chief guest while District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer of Bogura Golam Kibria was present as the special guest.

The chief guest mentioned the uninterrupted effort of building skilled and efficient next generation to face any kind of disaster in Bangladesh.

Other guests were OC (Investigation) of Bogura sadar Moin Uddin, the representative of district information office, fire and civil service office, Red-crescent and other NGOs, GO of the district.

Md. Moniruzzaman, the upazila project implementation officer (UPIO) of sadar upazila of Bogura presided over the whole programme.
