Large quantity of weapons recovered from BCL room of PUST

A large number of quantity of weapons was recovered from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman residential hall of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST). Tuesday afternoon, ordinary students recovered various weapons including pistols, big and small knives, hasua, ramada, rod, GI pipe, sticks, liquor bottles, phensydil, condoms from different rooms controlled by BCL leaders.

On the other hand, in response to the demands of ordinary students, the university authorities have announced the suspension of all political activities in the campus of PUST.

Provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman residential hall Amirul Islam said, on Sunday we ordered the illegal students to leave the hall.

After that, many people left the room empty but the rooms of BCL leaders were closed. These weapons were recovered today when the locks of those rooms were broken and searched. These are submitted to the University Proctor and legal action will be taken.

Meanwhile, in response to the demands of ordinary students, the university authorities have announced the suspension of all political activities in the campus of PUST.

An office order signed by university registrar Bijan Kumar Brahm on Tuesday (August 13) afternoon informed about the decision to stop politics.

It is stated that – for the information of all concerned, it is hereby informed that in view of the demands of the general students of Pabna University of Science and Technology, an urgent discussion was held with the policy makers of the Board of Regents of the University and as per Section 11 (12) of the University Act-2001, all students, Political activities of teachers, officials and employees (all types of political organisations, shadow organisations and professional organisations) have been declared closed, the campus has been declared politically free.

The registrar of the university, Bijan Kumar Brahm, said that the Vice-Chancellor, after discussing with the members of the Board of Regents, has announced the closure of the campus political activities as he has the power to do so.
