The body of a newborn was found in Sherpur upazila of  Bogura on Friday.  The police found the body in the dustbin of Sannalpara area of the municipality.

Locals said that in the morning, there was a strong stench coming from the pile of garbage on the side of the road. A newborn baby wrapped in a white bag is later seen in the dustbin. When the police were informed, they came and rescued the newborn (daughter).

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sherpur police station Rezaul Karim Reza said that the newborn is believed to be 5-6 months old. Not yet complete. An unknown person left the newborn in the dustbin. It has no injury marks on its body. The body has been sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
