A professional body directly recruited officers called `Past Direct Recruited Officers Association’ was launched at Pabna University of Science and Technology where a seven-member convening committee was formed unanimously on Wednesday.Additional director of finance and accounts department GA ShamsadFakhrul as convener, central store assistant controller of examination Md Rafiqul Islam as member secretary and deputy director Mainul Islam, deputy director Sangyeeta Siddiqui, assistant engineer Md Naeem Rezwan, assistant director Sabuj Hossain, section officer Ali AkbarTalukdar were nominated members.

The organisation made its debut by paying homage to the centenary memorial mural ‘Janak Jyortimoy’ installed on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the father of the nation at the university.

In a meeting of officers at a restaurant in the district town on Tuesday, the importance of forming an association with only officers appointed as direct officers was emphasised for the purpose of overall development including the implementation of officers’ demands, increasing professional skills, improving mutual relations.

After paying tribute in the morning, the news committee met with PUSTS’s vice-chancellor Hafiza Khatun, pro vice-chancellor S.M.Mustafa Kamal Khan, treasurer prof.KM Salah Uddin, registrar Bijan Kumar Brahm and proctor Dr.Md. Kamal Hossain.
