At least three people were killed in a gang thrashing on suspicion of thieves of Bhangura upazila in PabnaThe incident took place in Betuan village of the upazila in the early hours of Saturday.

According to the police and local sources, some thieves stole 2 cows from Golap Hossain’s house in Ashtamanisha village of the upazila and escaped in a boat. Realizing the matter, the nearby people including the owner of the cow chased the group of thieves. Not being able to catch, news was sent to people and relatives of different areas.

Meanwhile, a group of thieves tried to run away after seeing the people in Betuan village. Later, the local people caught the three people and beat them up. Three people died on the spot. One ran away. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body. The names of the victims were not immediately known.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhangura Police Station Nazmul Hossain confirmed this information and said that the bodies have been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
