The 33rd annual planning of Rural Development Academy (RDA) was held in Sherpur of Bogura on Thursday.
The programme was presided over by Director General (DG) of Rural Development Academy (Additional Secretary) Md Khurshid Iqbal Rezvi while Minister of State, Ministry of Local Government Rural Development Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacherjee was speaking as chief guest.
Swapan Bhattacherjee said to take the country one step further; we need to transform every village with developed economy and town amenities. The government is making maximum efforts in all possible ways to improve the quality of life of the rural people.
Besides, the speakers in the program said that Bogura Rural Development Academy is working tirelessly to build Smart Bangladesh. In order to manage the overall activities of the academy in a smooth manner, annual plan is adopted with the aim of formulating the action plan for the next financial year along with the review of the training research and practical research activities carried out in the previous financial year.
Member of Parliament Bogura-5 freedom fighter Md Habibur Rahman and Secretary of Rural Development and Cooperative Department Mst Hamida Begum were present as special guests in the event. Md. Shafiq Reza Biswas, Additional Secretary of Rural Development and Cooperatives Department was also present.
Director Ferdous Hossain Khan served as the convener of the 33rd annual planning program of the academy. Resource person Dr Sultana Faizun Nahar and director (project planning & monitoring division) Dr Abdul Mazid Pramanik also present in the function.
The Board of Governors of RDA Bogura, officials of various ministries, teachers from various universities, guests from government and private institutions, researchers, experts, all officers and employees of the academy participated in the event. Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Director General of the Academy thanked everyone.
Later an open discussion was held to receive various suggestions on training, research from the visiting experts. The products produced by Rural Development Academy were exhibited and posters of research papers were displayed.
