A young man was killed by a sharp blow of his cousin for protesting the beating of his father in Bara Kumira village of under Sadar Upazila of Bogura on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Jinnah Pramanik (23) son of Khorshed Alam of that area. At one stage of the argument between the two, Zilhaq hit Jinnah on the chest with a wood cutter and ran away.  Jinnah was seriously injured when his cousin, a carpenter, was hit by a batal during an altercation over a family dispute.

After that local people rescued him and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in where the doctors declared him dead.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar police station Saihan Waliullah said a murder case was lodged with the police station. Meanwhile, one of them has been arrested and attempt of arresting others is going on, OC added.
