Demonstration & Protest Rally has been held of the leaders accusing the Jubo League-Chatra League activists for harassment them in a false case against officer in Charge of Sherpur Police Station (OC) Babu Kumar Saha.
On Sunday (June25)afternoon,demonstration & protest Rally has been taken out from the party office on the west side of the highway in front of the town’s Town Club Public Library Mahila Honours College.
The procession has been circled local important roads & high way on the occasion. Sherpur ,Upazila Jubo League President Tarikul Islam Tarek presided over the meeting while General Secretary of Jubo League Aminul Islam Dablu was the chief guest in the meeting.Upazila Jubo League General Secretary Mostafizar Rahman Bhutto, Upazila Awami League’s former organizing secretary Badrul Islam Poddar Bobby, former legal affairs secretary Advocate Tozammel Haque, District Jubo League leader Sajedur Rahman Siju, Kreshok League leader Ashraful Alam Ayub Khan, Upazila Jubo League leader Adv. Khairul Basar Sohag, Ferdous Zaman Mukul, Arifuzzaman Sarkar, Arif Mollah, Abu Bakar Siddique, Alam Fakir, Farizul Islam, Chhatra League leader Sohel Rana spoke in the meeting.
Besides,speakers in the meeting strongly condemned and expressed their anger over the harassment of Jubo League-Chatra League leaders with false cases in this regard.
They strongly demanded to withdraw this harassing case as far as possible. Otherwise, they announced to enter the field with a strict program.Calling OC Babu Kumar Saha an inefficient officer,
The speakers further said that false cases have been taken in the name of Jubo League-Chhatra League activists without any investigation. It is against the law. He also commented that he could never do this as a defender of the law.Jubo League leaders demanded to investigate the matter and take necessary steps.
When asked, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur police station Babu Kumar Saha said that the attack took place on the principal of Jamur Madrasa. The victim himself identified the names of those involved in the attack.
A case has been taken accordingly. Therefore, he claimed that it is not a matter of which party the attackers belong to.
Incidentally: Last June 21 at approximately 9:30 pm, miscreants tried to kill Maulana Abdul Mannan, Acting Principal of Jamur Islamia Senior Alim Madrasa at a place called Tunipara in Kusumbi Union of Upazila.
In that incident, in the name of Kusambi Union Jubo League President Mostafizur Rahman Fizar, General Secretary Naimul Islam Naim, Chhatra League President Milnur Rahman Milon and six Jubo League-Chhatra League leaders and activists were present in the meeting.
