River water increasing in Kurigram, panic of flood

The water level of the rivers including the Brahmaputra,Dharla,Teesta and Dudkumar are increasing continuously due to incessant rainfall and onrush of water from upstream. Water level of the Dudkumar River is remaining near danger mark. River erosion is going on in some points in the district.

The river erosion is going on at Char Bhagabatipurand Porarcharunder Jatrapur union in Sadarupazila is going on.Char Bhagabatipur high school and a community clinic have been eroded recently. Meanwhile, a good number of river side people of Mollarhat area under Begumganj union of Ulipurupazila have become the victims of river erosion.

They have also lost cultivable lands and trees forced them to be homeless and landless. In addition, south Khaurea School and college under Nayarhat union of Chilmariupazila has gone in the Brahmaputra river bed yesterday causing more than seven hundred students of the institute are being deprived of education.

The vegetables fields and other crop fields have gone under water. A good number of Porar char and char Bhagabatipur under Jatrapur union in Sadarupazila are flood affected. The rural roads have gone under flood water causing communication system have been collapsed.
