Lightning struck one farmer when was cutting grass in the field for his cattle at Roumariupazila in Kurigram at noon on Tuesday (June 20) He was injured seriously and killed on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Amir Hamza 52 son of late Noor Mohammad of village NatumSoulmari under Soulmari union of the upazila.

Member of Soulmari union council Sona Miah informed that the farmer was cutting grass adjacent of his house for his cattle. At that time it was raining and suddenly lightning struck him and he was killed.

Officer-in-charge of Roumari police station Rupkumersarkar told that being informed police forces sent to the spot. An unnatural death case was lodged with the Roumarithana,he added.
