Teaching activities disrupted due to classroom crisis in Bogura

The teaching activities of Unahat Shingra high school under Dupchanchia upazila is being disrupted due to classroom crisis in Bogura for a long time.

As a result, mixed reactions have been seen among students and non-parents. Concerned authorities have been urged to come forward to solve the problem quickly.

It is known that in 1976, the school was built on the 0.72 acres of land in a house made of tin shed clay on the initiative of the learned personality and social workers of the area.

Total students from class 6th to 10th class are 476. There are total 12 teachers. Due to the classroom crisis, students have to stand outside the classroom when they come to school. They are allowed to enter the classroom only after the completion of another class.

Although regular classes are on, the infrastructure is a three-room building constructed by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED). Two of the buildings have classrooms and the other has teachers’ offices. And dilapidated tin shed mud houses which are now abandoned.

As a result, the school is suffering from various problems including disruption of teaching. Even though they belong to MPO, the mild students of the school are deprived of facilities.

Sathi Rani, a student of class 9, said that due to the shortage of classrooms, they had to come to school and stand outside waiting for the other classes to leave. It has been going on like this for a long time. As a result, it is difficult to concentrate on studying in the classroom.

The head teacher of the school Ataul Islam said that the number of students is increasing day by day due to the good results of SSC and JSC exams every year. We are facing a classroom crisis due to student growth. The problems have been reported to the Upazila Education Office.

Sushil Chandra Barman, president of the school’s managing committee, said, “We demand that the government take immediate measures to set up a multi-storied school building here, thinking about the children.” He also said that he also wishes for the cooperation and vision of the concerned authorities in the development of the infrastructure of the school.

District Education Officer Hazrat Ali said, “I don’t know about the classroom crisis, but the necessary business will be taken up with the inquiry.”
