AfelaBegum becomesself-reliant selling Ifter itemsin the ongoing holy month of Ramadan in Kurigram.

Islamic devotees (Rozadar) from many parts in Kurigram town gather in her shop to purchase her testy Peaju andAlur chop of per piece at Taka two, Beguniand egg chop per piece at Taka three and beef chop per piece at Taka five only which are being soldat Taka three in her hand making shop like a hot cake.

It is learnt that Afela Begum has been conducting a tea stall including various food items in a corrugated Iron (C.I) shed at Guatipara/Khanpara under Kurigram municipality area for the last 30 years.Earlier her husband Elias was conducting the shop when he was in alive. Elias Miah the then sold chokolet,Asar,fried papor,potato chop,ground nut,biscuits etc in his shop as a primary school was situated near his shop causes most of the students purchased such kind of food items.

After the death of Elias Miah his wife has been conducting the shop for the last 10 years.The phenomenon of her shop was increasing periodically.Afela’s two daughters were married and her son Adar Miah is 12 learning his lesson in class six of Kurigram Govt. high school. He extends his helping hands in the shop of his mother when his school remains close.

Councilor of ward no 2 of Kurigram Municipality KhorsedAlam Apple told this correspondent that after the death of her husband the woman is conducting the shop with hard labor and now she is self-reliant. We are very proud of this woman entrepreneur.
