Abdul Momin, who was arrested in the case of killing driver Samrat Hossain of Rooppur project of Ishwardiin Pabna, has been remanded for one day by the police.
The investigating officer of the case, Sub InspectorTahid Hossain of Ishwardi Police Station, said that Momin, friend of the deceased Samrat, was brought to Pabna Amli Court-2 on Tuesday for questioning and given a five-day remand application. After the hearing, Judge Shamsuzzaman granted a one-day remand.
Earlier, a team of RAB-12 Sirajganj arrested Momin from Banglamotor area in the capital on Sunday night. Earlier, Momin’s wife Seema Khatun was remanded for two days. Investigating officer SI Tahid Hossain said that after remand interrogation, he was sent to jail on Tuesday.
Meanwile, the police recovered the body of Samrat Hossain, the driver of Rooppur Nuclear Power Project with the Sports Utility Vehicle, from Shilaidah Ghat area of Kushtia on Saturday morning after two days of disappearance.
On Saturday night, Samrat’s father Abu Bakkar filed a killing case against naming Samrat’s friend Momin and his wife Sima and3/4 unknown people with Ishwardi police station. Before that, police arrested Momin’s wife SimaKhatun from her house on Friday night.
During initial interrogation after arrest, Sima and her husband Momin told law enforcement that they killed Samrat out of personal revenge due to extramarital love.
