youth was arrested on charge of cheating in the name of giving a job as a police constable in Bogura .

The arrested Zakir Hossain is the son of Abdus Salam of Chak Sekender area of Gabtali upazila of the district. He was arrested from Saptpadi Market area of the city last Thursday around 8 pm.

District Detective (DB) police recovered Tk 3 lakh in cash and a photocopy of the written exam admit card of a constable candidate from Zakir through fraud.

District Detective Police said that the fraudulent gang seized checks of Tk 5 lakh and Tk 14 lakh from a man named Abdur Razzak of Sonatala upazila in the name of giving his son a job as a police constable.

Realizing the fraud, the victim mentioned the names of three persons and filed a case at  Sadar police station on Thursday afternoon.

In the initial interrogation, the accused Zakir Hossain said that along with his associates Abdur Razzak and Sana, he had been extorting money from the candidates in the guise of officials of various government departments for a long time.

DB police in-charge Saihan Oliullah said that a fraud case has been registered against the arrested Zakir at the Sadar police station. Zakir was produced before the court on Friday morning. Besides, it is being investigated whether anyone else is involved in this fraud.
