After the virtual inauguration of the Prime Minister from Ganobhaban on Wednesday,(22 March) the keys of the land along with the land registration documents were handed over to the landless in the meeting room of Sherpur Upazila Council.

Upazila Executive Officer Sanjida Sultana of Sherpur upazila preside over the meeting. Chairman Alhaj Mojibur Rahman Majnu of Sherpur Upazila president of Bogura District  & Awami League, Upazila  Vice Chairman Shahjamal Siraji, Editor of Weekly Ajker Sherpur newspaper Alhaj Munsi Saiful Bari Dablo, Freedom Fighter Mukbul Hossain, upazila Animal  Resource Officer Doctor Md Raihan PAA, Engineer Liakat Hossain, Women Affairs Officer Subir Kumar Pal spoke in the house & landless  ceremony.

Government Officials, Freedom Fighters , Public Representatives, Journalists other categories of people were present on the occasion.

According to the office of Upazila Project Implementation Officer, houses were distributed among 171 landless and homeless families in the fourth phase of Asharyan Project-2 in this upazila.

Among them, there are 26 families in Kusumbi Union, 4 in Garihdah Union, 8 in Khamarkandi Union, 30 in Mirzapur and Shah Bandegi Union, 82 in Vishalpur Union, 4 in Bhabanipur Union and 17 in Sughat Union.

Seventy-year-old Makched Ali of Sughat Union wept with joy after receiving the gift house.He said, he did not have any house till now. He had been living an inhumane life with family members in place of others. I went door to door to help people to get shelter.  But it is hard to bear the expenses of the family. However, after receiving this gift from the Prime Minister, besides fulfilling his dream, old Mokhed Ali commented that his suffering was removed.
