The architect of independent Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 103rd birth anniversary is on Friday. Every year Bangandhu’s birthday is celebrated as ‘National Children’s Day’ with national status.
On this occasion, ladies club paid their respects by placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Chapainawabganj.
At eight o’clock on this day morning, under the leadership of president of the ladies club (wife of Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan) Mahfuza Sultana the members of the club paid their respects by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu located at the east-south corner of the Harimohan Government High School grounds.
Wife of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sohela Ferdous, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Papia Sultana, Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Naima Khan, Wife of NDC Tanjila Afrin, Wife of AC (General) Sanjida Afrin, Wife of AC Zakia Khatun, Assistant Commissioner Tanzina Sharmin Drishti and other members of ladies club were present.
Besides, on the occasion of the day, a cake cutting, discussion meeting, prayer mahfil, cultural program and prize distribution ceremony was held in the presence of Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan and President of Ladies Club (wife of DC) Mahfuza Sultana at the official children’s family premises. A total of 78 thousand taka merit scholarships were given to 5 meritorious students from children’s families in the event.
