The 103^rd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all times, celebrated today with extensive programs. The day was observed as National Children’s day.

Marking the birth anniversary and National Children’s day, the national flag was hoisted a top all buildings of government,semi government,autonomous and private organizations as well as educational institutes with the sun rise.The day is a public holiday.

The ruling Awami League has taken elaborate programs today marking the birthday of Father of the Nation and National Children’s day.

Floral wreaths were formally given to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman at 9.30 am on “ShadhinatarBijoyStambha” near Kurigram stadium. Government, semi government, autonomous and private organizations as well as educational institutes including DC Mohammad SaidulArif,SP Al Asad Mohammad Mahfujul Islam, Valiant Freedom Fighters, President of district unit of AL and chairman of ZilaParishad (former MP) Alhaj Mohammad Jafar Ali,Secretary of district unit of AL and chairman of SadarupazilaParishad Mohammad Aman Uddin Ahmed Monju were participated among others.

Shortly presented address of Historic march 07, Essay,Art competition and cultural function held in Shishu Academy.

Discussion on significance of the Day, Prize giving and cultural function was held at Sheikh RaselPoura Auditorium at 10.30 am. Blood donation,discussion onawareness of child health, Nutrition and foodwas held in KurigramSadar Hospitalat 11.00am.Lighting on Bangibandhu’s Mural, Muktijodha complex in upazila and district from evening.

Discussion on the working life of the Bangobandhu, Freedom Fight of Bangladesh and Independence and cultural function in all concerned educational institutes at any time.

Prayer and Munajat was also held in Mosques andtemple.

Earlier, ZilaParishad member SheulyBegum,Minhajul Islam Aiyub and EkramulHaque Bulbul,ZilaParishad engineer Mizanur Rahman and all staff led by President of district unit of AL and chairman of ZilaParishad (former MP) Alhaj Mohammad Jafar Ali placed floral wreath in the Mural of Bangobandhu at Trimohony at 7.00 am and Mural of Bangobandhu in front of ZilaParishad office at 7.30am and prayed. The Munajat was conducted by principal of KurigramAleaKamilMadrashaAlhajMaolana Mohammad Noor Bakhat. At the end of Munajatotherprograms was held in AL party office.
