Rajshahi City Corporation’s “Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Mausoleum Construction Project” of Tk 28.76 crore has been approved.

A Government Order (GO) was issued on Thursday (March 16) approving the project. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Awami League Presidium Member and Honorable Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the approval of the project. At the same time Hon’ble Planning Minister M. A. Rasik Mayor thanked Mannan MP and Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Md Tajul Islam MP.

According to the engineering department of RCC, by preserving the tombs of national leaders, the history and heritage of Bangladesh will be presented to future generations, the memory of the liberation war of Bangladesh will be preserved through the construction of the mausoleum of martyr AHM Kamaruzzaman, one of the four national leaders, and the contribution of the national leader will be brought to the new generation.

Rajshahi City Corporation prepared and submitted the Development Project Proposal (DPP) of ‘Shaheed A.H.M. Kamaruzzaman’s Tomb Construction Project’ to the Ministry of Local Government for the purpose and objective of 28 crore 76 lakh 60 thousand. Last (12 February 2023) Planning Minister M. A. The project was approved by Mannan. Accordingly, a Government Order (GO) approving the project was issued on Thursday (March 16).

The ‘Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Mausoleum Construction Project’ will be implemented at the current location of Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman’s mausoleum located in Kadirganj of Rajshahi city at a cost of Tk 28 crore 76 lakh. The project includes construction of monuments, construction of administrative building of Samadhi complex, construction of library, construction of internal drainage, construction of internal drainage, construction of boundary wall, development of soil, construction of entrance gate, construction of walkway, construction of protective wall of reservoir, construction of landscaping and land and Structure compensation will be provided. Under the project, a road of 35 meters will be constructed from Greater Road to Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Tomb. The duration of the project is till June 2024.
