BERC reduced price of LPG by Taka 76

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Taka 76 from 1,492 for a 12-kg cylinder at the retailer level.

“The newly fixed price of LPG is Taka 1,422, which was Taka 1,492. It will effect from today (Thursday) and all licenses of LPG marketing companies will implement the price,” according to a statement issued by the BERC today.

It said the BERC also re-fixed the auto gas price at Taka 66.62 per litre, which was Tk 69.71, while per kilogram of LPG at Taka 118.54 at retailer level including the VAT owned by private sector.

According to the BERC decision, new price at retailer level owned by private sector, 12.5 kg LPG has been fixed at Tk 1,482 at retailer level, 15 kg at Tk 1,778, 16 kg at Tk 1,897, 18 kg at Tk 2,134, 20 kg at Tk 2,371, 22 kg at Tk 2,608, 25 kg at Tk 2,964, 30 kg at Tk 3,557, 33 kg at Tk 3,912, 35 kg at Tk 4,150 and 45 kg at Tk 5,334.

According to the BERC, the price of LPG $720 and $740 per ton was fixed for March 2023 by Saudi Contract Price (Saudi CP) as per Propane and Butane ratio 35:65. The Saudi CP price was fixed $733 per ton considering the ration between Propane and Butane average.
