Sherpur Police Inspector (Investigation) Lal Mia confirmed the matter on Sunday (February 26) morning. He said that the victim girl’s father filed a rape case at Sherpur police station on Saturday evening. After that, the police conducted a raid and arrested Sohag from the bazar area of ​​Shubogacha village of the upazila around 9:30 that night.

Sohag’s house is in Sariakandi upazila of Bogura district .He lives in Khamarkandi Union of Sherpur Upazila and works as a dredger machine to cut soil.

This police officer also said that Sohag, who was arrested in this case, was sent to jail through the court on Sunday. Apart from this, the rape victim has been sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura  for medical examination.

It has been mentioned in the statement of the case that the student’s family got to know Sohag when she was in the seventh grade due to living in the same area. Because of this, Sohag used to come and go home often.

The student left the room to go to the toilet last Friday at 12:15 AM. At that time, Sohag, who was having sex in the courtyard of the house, took her by force and raped her in a crop field next to the house. The people of the house did not find the girl and started searching around. At that time,Sohag noticing the matter, left her on the village road and ran away.

Sub Inspector (SI) of Sherpur police station Mostafizur Rahman, the investigating officer of the case, said, In this case, the written complaint of Sherpur police station yesterday evening was accepted as a case. After that, Sohag has been arrested from Shubogacha Bazar area of the upazila.
