One husband was murdered by his housewife in connection of extra marital affairs at Roumari upazila in Kurigram at dead of night on Wednesday. Police recovered the body at noon on Thursday (February 23). The killer house wife Soma Akhter Sumi 19 was arrested.

The father of the deceased Motaleb Hossain filed a murder case with Roumari thana police.

Officer-in-charge of Roumari police station Rup Kumar Sarkar told that being informed the body was recovered on Thursday. It is primarily suspected that it might have been killed for extra marital affairs. The wife of the deceased is being interrogated.

.Police said Sumon Miah son of Motaleb Hossain of village Baraibari in Roumari sadar union married with Soma Akhter Sumi daughter of Sukur Ali of village Kalabari in the same union four months back. Family feud was going on after the marriage due to extra marital affairs. Following the incident they exchanged hot words on Wednesday night. It is suspected that the husband Sumon was strangulated to death at dead of night by his wife.

The father of the deceased Motaleb Hossain complained that Suma Akhter Sumi developed love affairs and used to talk by mobile phone of his son with her lover. Following the incident they exchanged hot words every day. His son informed the matter to his father-in-law’s house. Consequently, Sumi became agitated and killed her husband at dead of night as per plan. He claimed to arrest other criminals and demanded for exemplary punishment immediately.
