Planted saplings of paddy on 21 decimals of land of a farmer were uprooted by his rivals in the dark of night at Pachgachi union under KurigramSadarupazila on Sunday night (February 07).
The victim has been submitted a written complaint in KurigramSadarthana.
The farmer is Ashraful Islam son of Late Rahmat Ali of village ChattrapurJhakuapara in the union.
Sources said the farmer has been cultivating crops in his own land for long. He cultivated and planted saplings of paddy in his land ten days back. When he went to his land to irrigate and found that his rivals uprooted the planted entire saplings of paddy.
It is mentioned here that earlier several sittings were held with his rivals about another land. The complained persons are Abdul Mazid son of late ZakariaMunshi,Liton,Ripon and Abdul Karim. The farmer submitted a writtencomplaint against them inKurigramsadarthana.
The victim farmer Ashraful Islam told that I planted purchasing saplings with hard labor. When I planned to irrigate in the land I found all the planted saplings were uprooted and I faced in a great loss. Earlier I cultivated mustard in the same land and got satisfactory production. Now I have no ability to prepare the land and plant of saplings again.
Officer-in-charge of Kurigramsadar police station Khan Mohammad Shahrear told that lawful action will be taken after investigation.
