Jisan (22) and Farzana Akhter Mim (19) have committed suicide on Friday (January 20) afternoon by consuming gas tablet at Hajipur area under Sherpur Upazila of Bogura district.
The deceased Jisan and Farzana Akhter Mim are husband and wife who lived in Hajipur area of the town.
Jisan’s elder brother Jeeban said,” They both went to Shubogacha Jisan’s father’s in the morning. From there, Hajipur came home in the afternoon. After that, they bought chip from the shop and went inside the house. Then they came out of the house around 4 pm”. They said that they had consumed gas tablets” he added.
Then they were rescued and taken to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex.When the condition worsened there, she was taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. There, his wife died around 6 pm while undergoing treatment. After 15 minutes,her husband Jisan also died.
Residents who don’t want to reveal their names said, Farzana Akhter Mim’s father has some collected money. Jisan asks to bring that money. Mim consumes gas tablets due to failure to bring that money. Later her husband Jisan also consumed gas tablet.
Officer -in-charge of Sherpur police station Ataur Rahman Khondkar said, ” The body will be handed over to the family after the legal process.”
