Food Directorate conducted a raid at Shinu Agro Industry paddy & rice illegally stored and seized on the occasion. Bogura District Food Controller Kazi Saifuddin confirmed this information and said that Shinu Agro Automill and Warehouse, an associate company of Shinu Group owned by Shafiqul Islam (Shiru), a wealthy businessman of Sherpur town, is the owner of the warehouse.However, it has been rented by ACI Company for several days.
Basically they have been doing business of paddy and rice. A raid was conducted in the mill and warehouse based on the news that ACI Company’s paddy-rice was illegally stored here. At that time, more than 2 thousand 580 tons of paddy and 1 thousand 900 tons of rice were found in that unauthorized institution. He said that they were seized later.
Food controller Saiful Islas also said, “ACI company has no permission to store rice and rice in warehouses. A few months ago, the same company was fined Tk 6 lakh for illegally storing paddy and rice.” “Legal action will be taken against them for storing paddy and rice.he added.
Meanwhile, when asked about the statement, Abdullah Al Mamun, a senior officer of ACI’s Bogura region, said, “We have government permission to store paddy and rice. But I could not show them these documents immediately now they are in ours.” They will be displayed in front of them in time” he also claimed.
