A devastating fire burnt three shops worth taka about ten laces atSaddam crossing under Bhurungamariupazila in Kurigram.

Local sources said the fire was originated from a short circuit from a mattress and quilt making shop at Sddam crossing owned by Abdul Halim of Telai union under the upazila. The flame of the fire engulfed adjacent three shops includingMaydul Engineering workshop, Motor cycle servicing,three rooms,and furniture worth taka ten lacs were burnt to ashes at noon on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses said the fire rapidly engulfed in adjacent three shops. Being informed Fire Service of Nageswariupazila rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after their frantic efforts.
