A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a truck at Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-Bogura highway at Hospital Road on Wednesday morning (4January) of Khejurtala৷ of the town. But his name was not identified.
In-charge of Sherpur Highway Police Camp Zainal Abedin confirmed this information and said that the person was crossing the highway.
Meanwhile, an unknown loaded truck hit him. He died on the spot. Later, after receiving information from local people, the body was recovered and sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC&H) hospital morgue in Bogura.
The highway police officer said, “The age of the deceased is estimated to be 30 years. He is wearing gray color trousers and blue colored gingham on his body.”
Quoting locals, he further said” ‘The man was probably mentally sick. So he lived a wandering life. Attempts are being made to identify the deceased.”
“The police officer said, ” The process of the case against the driver-helper along with the identification of the killer truck is going on.”
