People suffered badly in bone chilling cold wave

The bone chilling and biting cold wave is blowing in greater Rangpur region including Kurigram district paralised normal life.

Several lacs of people of river side areas as well as days laborers are the worst sufferer.The sun is not visible. Although sometimes visible at noon but no heat.The whole night is covered with dense fog and sometimes dense fog fall at night and early in the morning like rain.Boat and vehicle movement are being hampered .The people are seen few in the road.

Men, women and children are being suffered here due to bone chilling cold wave.The poor people are warming themselves burning wood and westage papers.

On the other hand, the people are rushing towards to the shops to purchase warm clothes for near and dear one. But the poor people are also purchasing second hand clothes from Nasar Uddin Markets,Judgecouirt market and adjacent foorpath market in low cost.

The second hand cloth traders are doing brisk business. EnamulHaque 50, a secons hand trader of Nasar Uddin market told this correspondent that the price of second hand clothes have been increased in this year causing the price has also been increased in retail.

Although some government and non government organizations have distributed blankets and others warm clothes among cold hit poor people which are inedequate.Most of the poor people have not received warm clothes.

Akbar Ali55 and Rokeya Begum30 said in the same market that we purchased one jacket at taka 350/-

The cold realated patients are rushing towards Hospitals and clinics for treatment.Most of them are attacked with cough, fever, asthma, Respiratory Tract Infection (RTI) and other diseases.

Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Kurigram General Hospital Dr. Shahinur Rahman Sardar told that the number of patients have been increased in out door due to cold wave. Especially children and old aged persons are the main patients.

Wireless Operator and officer-in-charge (CC) of Rajarhat Weather ObservetoryTuhin Miah said thelowest temperature was recorded at 11.5 degree celcious in the morning on Wednesday.It is expecting to blow two more moderate cold wave in this month according to weather forcaste, he added.
