A worker of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project was killed after being hit by a truck at Ishwardi in Pabna on Thursday.

The deceased Rubel Hossain,32 was working as a laborer in a contractor company of RooppurNuclear Power Plant project and son of AbulKasem of Uttarchak of Atghariamunicipal area in Pabna,

Pakshi Highway police officer-in-charge Ashish Kumar Sanayal confirmed this information and said that the accident took place at Noodapara on Pakshi-Dashuriaroad at around 6:30 am on Thursday.

Rubel was going to work place at Rooppurnuclear power project on a motorcycle from his home. On the way, when the motorcycle reached Noodapara, a goods laded truck coming from Natore towards Kushtia hit the motorcycle from behind and he was seriously injured, police officer said.

Locals rescued him and took him to Ishwardiupazilahealth complex where he died around 9am while undergoing treatment.

Pakshi Highway police managed to seize the truck but the driver and helper are absconding.
