Bogura district unit BNP has elected their President and General Secretary through the direct votes from Biennial conference at Shaheed Titu Millenayatan in Bogura town on Wednesday.

Returning Officer Adv. Ali Azgar sources said out of total 2,222 delegates, the 2,166 delegates from 22 unit of the district unit BNP have exercised their valuable votes for electing President, General Secretary and Organising Secretary in the next two years.

Existing convener of the district unit Bogura district unit BNP and the Mayor of Bogura Municipality was elected as President and former upazila chairman of Sadar upazila and Joint-Secretary of the last BNP committee was elected as General Secretary of the district unit BNP for the next two years, added he.

Returning Officer also said that elected President Rezaul Karim Badsha begged 1,153 votes while his opponent candidate and the former President of district unit BNP Saiful Islam bagged 913 votes.

Contrary, elected General Secretary Ali Ajgar Talukdar Hena bagged 1,094 votes while his opponent M. R. Islam Shadhin bagged 1,066 votes, he further added.

Vising the biennial conference area, the whole area was full to the brim with the delegates, well-wishers and common supporters of district unit BNP with joyous fervour and on Wednesday midnight, the President and General Secretary post winners were declared.

Besides, 11 aspirants have fought for the 3 posts of Organising Secretary and the elected 3 are Shahid-un-Nabi Salam, KM Khairul Bashar and Jahidul Islam Helal.
