A regional leader of PurbaBanglarSarbaharParty (PBSP) was shot dead by unidentified assailants atChachakiyaOlimore bazar of Atghariaupazila in Pabna on Wednesday evening.

The deceased Musa Kha,26, son of OliKha of ChachakiaDiarpara village under Ekdanta union of Atghariaupazila and was a regional leader of the PurbaBanglarSarbahar party.

Locals said Musa was playing carrom board at a tea shop in ChachakiaOli More Bazar. At that time, at around 6pm suddenly a group of armed terrorists numbering 5/7 entered the shop and shot him in the chest with a gun and left him dead. At this time, people started running around in fear.

Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Atgharia police station, admitted the incident and said that Musawas a leader of an extremist group of PurbaBanglarSarbahar party.

It is initially believed that he was killed due to their internal conflict.

Police recovered the body and sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination, OC said.
