Bamondanga Union Health and Family Welfare Center (UHFWC) under Sundarganjupazila in the district successfully completed the normal delivery activities of 100 expectant mothers of the union in last few months.
Office sources said the center was brought under Mamota project in june of 2021 aimed to provide delivery services to the expectant mothers of the union in a bid to reduce the mother and infant mortality rate.
The project is being implemented by Save the Children, Korea in partnership with SKS Foundation, a local reputed non-government organization with the financial support of Korea International.
Office sources said, the center was brought under Mamota Cooperation Agency.
Required number of staff were also appointedthere from the project to run the overall activities of the center peacefully.
Then the staff of the center including local public representatives started the motivational works among the pregnant mothers and their guardians about safe delivery at the center. In response, the expectant mothers started going to the center and gave birth their children taking the need base services from the concerned staff of the center.
Seeing the successful deliveries at the center, the attendance of the pregnant mothers continued to rise day by day. On Sunday, the number of normal deliveries stood to 100. Onfulfilling 100 normal deliveries at the center, a function on discussion and cake cutting was held there.
Upazila family planning officer Dr. Sekender Ali attended the function as the chief guest and said the center has become much popular one to the pregnant mothers for conducting coordinated and cordial efforts of the staff of the center. He also urged all the concerned to keep up the position of the center in future.
Later, The 100th mother who gave birth child here is fed cake on behalf of the organizer.
Md. Jabbar Ali, local UP chairman said through providing servicesfor normal deliveries to the pregnant mothers, the center has become a place of confidence to the expectant mothers and their guardians of the union.
He called on everyone to maintain its continuity.
A good number of local elite, family planning staff, NGO activists and media men were present on the occasion.
