Young man named Martuza Kawsar Avi (30), a leader of Municipal Awami League, was hacked to death by miscreants at Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
The incident took place at 6:30 pm behind MM Car Wash and Sharmin in Upazila on Tuesday evening.
The deceased Avi is the son of Late Hossain Kausar Fua of Khandkar Para of the upazila of Bogura district.
It is known that at the scene, Avi was waiting for the motorcycle to be cleaned at the service center of the wash room of the motorcycle.
At that time, when some miscreants attacked with weapons, he ran to save his life and went inside the jungle behind the wash room, the miscreants ran away after stabbing him. Later local people rescued him and took him to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital(SZRMC) Duty doctor declared him dead.
In this regard, Municipal Awami League General Secretary Golam Hossain said, “Avi was the leader of the proposed committee of Sherpur Municipal Awami League.”
Sherpur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ataur Rahman Khandkar said, “The murder may have taken place in an internal conflict. It is not possible to say who is involved in this murder at this moment.The accused will be arrested as soon as possible.” “Legal action will be taken against them after investigation.” he added.
