A daylong training for the members of the resource pool comprising with various level individuals on training on District Level Resource Pool to support Anticipatory Action was heldat the conference room of Gaibandha Govt. College of the town here today.
SKS Foundation, a local reputednon-government organization, arranged the training under the project of Scale-up Flood Anticipatory Action for Protecting Lives and Assets in Northern Region in Bangladeshbeing implementedin the district by SKS Foundation and Save the Children.
Assistant engineer of Flood Forecasting and Warning Center of Bangladesh Water Development (BWDB) ParthaPratimBarua, country lead of Rimes RaihanulHaque, manager technical specialistof humanitarian sector of Save the Children FatemaMeherunnesaconducted the training sessions as the resource persons while project coordinator AKM Abdul Matin was the moderator.
The resource persons in their speeches urged the resource pool members to come forward with positive attitude to make the people of flood prone areas of the district aware about taking early action plans before coming possible floods to reduce their loss of lives and assets during the time of flood.
Professor Md. Khalilur Rahman, principal of the college, in his presidential speeches urged the members of the resource pool to work sincerely to attain the cherished goals of the training.
Earlier, assistant commissioner of the district administration and also district relief and rehabilitation officer-(acting) Md. Jewel Miah delivered a speech and urged the trainees to receive knowledge from the training attentively and to make it more effective and successful as well.
Almost all members of the resource pool participated in the training.
