Youth named Sajib Hossain (24) was arrested by local residents and handed over to the police in connection with the robbery of CNG by stabbing CNG driver Ruhul Amin under Sherpur of Bogura district.
Arrested Sajib Hossain is the son of Abdur Razzak of Bhatra village of Khanpur Union of the upazila.
On Wednesday (August 24) at 8 o’clock in the night, Sherpur police station arrested and brought him from Sughat Union. The injured CNG driver is Ruhul Amin (29), son of Maola Bux of Langalmora village in Seeambari union of the same upazila of Bogura district.
Locals said ” Arrested Sajib Hossain, the robber who had booked CNG in order to come from Chandaikona to Sughat.
On reaching Phuljor area of Sughat Union from Chandaikona, robber Sajeeb tried to rob CNG driver Ruhul Amin by holding a knife to his(Ruhul Amin) neck.
CNG driver was stabbed with a knife when he did not want to give CNG to snatcher. Then the locals came forward on his self-scream and raided the robber first and kept him in Sughat Union Parishad. They handed over him to the police after mass washing.
Officer in-charge Sherpur police station Rahman Khondkar said, “We have visited the scene and the accused has been taken into police custody.”
“Legal action action will be taken as per rules.” he added
