A team of Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) has arrested a drug dealer named Kausar Ahmed (23) with 1.5 kg of cannabis in Rajshahi metropolis.

He was arrested from Talaimari Shaheed Minar area of ​​Boalia police station on December 26, 2021 at 11:15 pm.

The arrested drug dealer is Kausar Ahmed, 23, son of Mohammad Mizanur Rahman of Keshabpur village under Titas police station in Comilla district.

This information was confirmed by the spokesperson of the city police, Additional Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Golam Ruhul Quddus.

He said that on Tuesday (December 26) night, based on a tip-off, DB police came to know that a man was selling cannabis in Talaimari Shaheed Minar area of ​​Boalia Model Police Station.

On the basis of such information, the operation was carried out under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Md. Arefin Jewel under the overall supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) Md. Abdullah Al Masud, Inspector of Police Md. Ashiq Iqbal, SI Md. Shakil Huda Johnny and allied forces. Drug dealer Kausar Ahmed was arrested along with 1.5 kg of cannabis.

A case has been filed against the arrested drug dealer under the Narcotics Control Act. He was handed over to the court at 11am on Wednesday, the police official said.
