The Bi-Annual conference of the Communist Party of Bangladesh has been held under Sherpur upazila of Bogura
The conference was held on Sunday (December 26) at 12 noon on the premises of Sherpur DJ High School. At the beginning, the national and organizational flags were hoisted by the central and district leaders of the Party.
The conference was presided over by Harishankar Saha, President of the Communist Party of the Upazila Committee, and was inaugurated by Comrade Jinnatul Islam Jinnah, President of the Party District Committee. Aslam Khan, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, was the chief guest in the meeting.
In his speech, he said that for the establishment of democracy in the country, the views of all parties should be given priority. He also expressed concern over the abnormal rise in prices of daily necessary commodities.
The present government should take steps now to address it. On the other hand, the commodities of ordinary people will go beyond their purchasing power,he added.
District committee member Matiar Rahman, district student union president Saddam Hossain, local upazila committee leaders Shri Kant Mahato, Nimai Ghosh, Makshuda Begum, Bishwanath Dev among others spoke at the conference. Earlier, a procession was taken out. The procession encircles the important roads of Sherpur town.
