Motiur Rahman, 62, son of late Rahim Box of the village, died on Sunday evening while undergoing treatment in Dhaka (December 12)
Earlier on Sunday morning, he was seriously injured when his son Mamun stabbed his father deliberately in a corn field near his house.
Locals said, “After hearing the screams in the morning, we rescued Motiur Rahman and took him to Sherpur Upazila Hospital firstly.” Then he was later taken to Bogura Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital(SZRMCH).When his condition more worsened, he was taken to Dhaka. There he died in the evening.
Meanwhile, Mamun (30), who was detained by the locals, has been handed over to Sherpur Police Station.
Locals said Mamun was mentally unbalanced.
Sherpur Police Officer in Charge (OC) Shahidul said that his son Mamun is in police custody. Preparations are underway to take legal action in this connection.
