Gaibandha deputy commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin in a function here yesterday said VDP members are playing significant role in developing the nation and rooting out social crimes to ensure a peaceful society.

“Besides, the members of ansar and VDP are discharging their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication in implementing the development programmes at grassroots level side by side with maintaining law and order in the country”, he also said

DC Abdul Matin made the comments while addressing a training programme of VDP at held at the training centre (SM Barrack) of ansar and VDP located at Dhanghara of the town here on Saturday noon as the chief guest.

The guests in their speeches urged all the members of the VDP to do all types of departmental works sincerely aimed at making the government-sponsored development programems more successful in future to build a developed nation by 2041.

District ansar commander M. RezaulIslam in his speech said VDP, is the voluntary organization in the country, has been working for the welfare of the people.

He also advised the members to work to free the society from the curse of social crime, and superstitions, especially eve teasing, human trafficking, gender disparity, drug addiction and sexual harassment.

At the end, a good number of selected members of VDP were given prizes for their laudable contribution to their respective working fields.
