The Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) is working tirelessly to bring citizen services to the doorsteps of the people and ensure safe water supply and sanitation services in Bogura.

It is known that DPHE is an important organization under the Local Government Department. DPHE is entrusted with the responsibility of improving public health through safe water supply. As a result, DPHE Bogra has been directed to work expeditiously and responsibly for safe water and sanitation coverage.

Safe water and sanitation play a vital role in protecting public health. The DPHE official of the district is trying to ensure hundred percent safe water and sanitation facilities to the people of the dsitrict.

Shapla Khatun, estimator DPHE said that the water supply and sanitation projects in 30 municipalities (Kahalu and Shibganj upazilas) are progressing rapidly through regular monitoring. On the other hand about 10% of the work in Shepur upazila has been completed.

Abul Kalam Azad, executive engineer of DPHE said the need for municipal water supply and sanitation is increasing in the north as a result of rapid urbanization. To meet this demand, the department is assisting the municipalities in planning and institutional development under technical assistance including construction of water supply and sanitation infrastructure, he added.
