Inauguration of 50 beautiful model mosques and Islamic cultural centers

 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated 50 beautiful model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in 50 upazilas of the country.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the modern and well-equipped mosque and cultural center at 10:30 am on Thursday (June 10) from Ganobhaban. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, one of the planners of the project, was virtually connected to Rangpur, Sylhet and Khulna in the inauguration ceremony of the first 50 model mosques.
Under this project, the Prime Minister has taken up the project of constructing 560 mosques across the country. Among the 13 special facilities in these mosques, the system of digital registration for performing Hajj, including training of Hajj pilgrims in the mosque, is particularly noteworthy.
Project Director Najibur Rahman told the media, “We have built model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in 50 upazila headquarters in 30 districts across the country.” Construction of 100 more mosques will be completed in the current financial year. He said a total of 560 model mosque projects are underway in the district and metropolitan level in A category, 465 in B category in Upazila Sadar and 16 in C category in coastal areas.
Najibur Rahman said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set a precedent in the history of the world through this. I don’t know that there is a precedent of setting up so many world class infrastructures at once.These model mosques have separate ablution facilities for men and women, separate arrangements for prayers with toilets for disabled Muslims, Islamic bookstore, Islamic library, autism corner, imam training center, Islamic research and religious activities.There are Qur’an custody, children’s and mass education facilities, accommodation and guest houses for domestic and foreign tourists, bathing and coffin carrying bodies, training of imams, accommodation of imams and muezzins and accommodation of officials in the cultural center.
The other facilities that can be obtained from these mosques are the primary education system of 1 lakh 6 thousand children every year including various Islamic subjects. The project will also accommodate 2,240 domestic and foreign guests under the project. In the coastal areas, the ground floor will be empty as a shelter for the mosques.
With the construction of these mosques with state-of-the-art facilities, 1,200 worshipers will be able to perform prayers together in each mosque under construction in the district headquarters and city corporation area. The model mosque in the upazila and coastal areas will have arrangements for the prayers of 900 worshipers together.
In these mosques, 4 lakh 94 thousand 200 men and 31 thousand 400 women will be able to perform prayers together in mosques across the country every day.
Under the library facility, 34,000 readers can read Qur’an and Islamic books together every day. There will be opportunities for research on Islamic subjects for 6,700 people. 56 thousand Muslims will always be able to recite tasbih with doa munajat.
The 50 upazilas that have been inaugurated are: Savar in Dhaka, Madhukhali in Faridpur, Pakundia and Kuliarchar in Kishoreganj, Shibalaya in Manikganj, Rajbari Sadar, Shariatpur Sadar and Gosairhat, Sariakandi in Bogura, Sherpur and Kahalu,Porsha, Sirajganj District Sadar and Upazila Sadar, Pabna’s Chatmohar, Rajshahi’s Godagari and Paba, Dinajpur’s Khansama and Biral, Lalmonirhat’s Patgram, Panchagarh’s Debiganj and Upazila Sadar, Rangpur District Sadar, Mithapukur, Upazila Sadar, Pirganj, Badarganj, Thakurgaon’s Haripur, Subarnachar in Noakhali, Gafargaon and Tarakanda in Mymensingh, Chittagong District Sadar, Lohagarh, Mirsarai and Sandwip, Islampur and Upazila Sadar in Jamalpur, Nabinagar and Vijaynagar in Brahmanbaria, Dakshin Surma in Sylhet, Daudkandi in Comilla, Kushtia Sadar, Khulna District Sadar, Chandpur’s Kachua, Jhalokati’s Rajapur and Chuadanga Sadar.
