A girl was gang-raped allegedly after being picked up from her house under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district. Police have arrested three youths including an associate woman in the case filed in the incident.
They were sent to the district court on Tuesday (May 25) at noon for a seven-day remand.
The arrested are Aslam Hossain, 39, son of Moslem Uddin of Choksadi village in Sughat union of the upazila, Sohag Hossain, 25, son of Majnu Miah of the same village and Zahidul Islam, 25, son of Nurul Islam. Rasheda Begum, 25, wife of Bellal Hossain, has been arrested on charges of collaborating in rape.
According to the case sources, the teenager went out of the house on May 13 at 9 pm to respond to the call of nature. At that time, the accused grabbed the girl’s face and took her to the bamboo bush next to the house. There they raped her in turn. At this time they ran away at the scream of the teenager.
Sherpur Police Inspector (Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the incident and said, “The raped girl has been sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC) Hospital in Bogura for medical examination.”
Besides, a case has been filed in the police station under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act. The accused in the case have also been arrested.
He added,’They need more interrogation to know about the incident. They were sent to the district court around 1.30 pm on Tuesday for a seven-day remand.
