60 homeless families waiting for PM’s gift in Sapahar

On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that if Bangladesh Awami League holds state power, not a single person in Bangladesh will be homeless in future.

All the homeless and landless people of the country will be brought under the rehabilitation program and their accommodation will be ensured as a result of which the project of handing over houses among the homeless people in the country is underway.

Following this, 60 houses are waiting to be handed over among 60 homeless families in the second phase in Sapahar upazila bordering Naogaon district.

On June 20, at 10:30 am, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the handover of the house across the country in two steps through video conference.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahjahan Hossain and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mamun will explain their houses among the  homeless people of the upazila. Abdullah Al Mamun, an executive activist, held a press conference with media personnel at the office of the former Sapahar Upazila Nirbahi Officer before inaugurating the handover of houses among the homeless in the second phase.

He said at the press conference that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will announce the inauguration of the transfer of houses among the benefited homeless families through a video conference from Ganobhaban on Sunday, June 20 at 10:30 am.
He added that as part of the rehabilitation program for homeless and landless families under the Asrayan project funded by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, houses were handed over to 120 homeless families in the first phase in the upazila.

Every house is being built in the same style. There will be two bedrooms, a toilet, a kitchen, a common space and a veranda.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sohrab Hossain and all journalists of various print and electronics media working in the upazila were present at the press conference.
