Police and RAB members have arrested at least 46 activists of BNP-Jamaat in the last 24 hours in these and previous cases in Bogura.
Two separate cases were lodged in Sadar police station and 74 people have been accused in the case in connection with truck fire, cocktail explosion and vehicle vandalism on last 72 hours country wide confines of them.
According to police sources, BNP activists blocked the Dhaka-Rangpur highway and held a protest march in Baropur area on Thursday morning. At that time they exploded five cocktails and vandalized two CNG auto rickshaws. In this incident, SI Zakir Al Ahsan of Sadar police station filed a case against 33 people and many others unknown.
On the other hand, the blockaders vandalized at least 10 trucks on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Belail area of Tinmatha. On being intercepted, they detonated eight cocktails at the police from an alley.
In this incident, SI Zahid Nion of Sadar police station filed a case against 41 people and many unknown people.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Saihan Oliullah said that the accused were directly involved in the deterioration of the law and order situation and were arrested in various cases. Later they were sent to jail through the court, Oc added.
