450 flood, erosion victims get health protection materials, cashfrom SKS Foundation in Gaibandha

As many as 450 flood, erosion victims of Kamarjanui, Mollarchar and Gidari unions under Sadarupazila in the district got hygiene kits as health protection materials and cash from SKS Foundation, a local non-government voluntary organization, last few days.

The materials and cash money were distributed to the beneficiary families of the unions under Emergency Flood Response programme-2021 being implemented by SKS Foundation with the financial support of donor Organization-Save the Children, official sources said.

This was disclosed by senior project coordinator(SPC) SK Mamun in a briefing workshop held at the conference room of Sadarupazila administration of the district on Wednesday.

UNO RafiulAlam attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest and upazila project implementation officer Anisur Rahman spoke at the function as the special guest.

In the workshop, SPC SK Mamun said each of the beneficiaries had received 8 pieces of suti cloth, 10 pieces of hand washing soap, a kg of detergent powder, a piece of plastic mug, 20 water purification tablets, a piece of quality bag from the organization.

Apart from it, the beneficiaries also received cash TK 1,35,000 from the organization, He also said. The beneficiaries each got TK 3000, he said adding that the cash money were sent to the respective account holders through mobile money transfer.

UNO RafiulAlam heard SK Mamun with patience and thanked the organizations for standing beside the flood and erosion victims of the unions with hygiene kits and cash to mitigate their sufferings during the post flood period.

Representative of Save the Children Tazmul Islam, NGO activists, upazila level officials including journalists attended the function.
