New law officers have been appointed in the District and Sessions Judge Courts and Subordinate Courts and Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal of Chapainawabganj District. The old ones are excluded.
This information was revealed in a letter signed by Sana Md. Mahruf Hossain, Deputy Solicitor of the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh. The letter signed last Sunday has been sent to the District Magistrate of Chapainawabganj.
According to the letter, the appointment orders of all the law officers previously appointed in the district and session judge court of Chapainawabganj district and the courts under it and in the women and child torture suppression tribunal have been canceled and they have been exempted from their duties until these lawyers are appointed again.
As mentioned in the letter, lawyer Md. Abdul Wadud has been appointed as Public Prosecutor (PP) of District and Sessions Judge Court. He joined the Bar Association in 1986.
Besides, Md. Rabiul Haque Dolan has been appointed as Public Prosecutor (PP) in the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal. He joined the Bar Association in 1988. Md. Ibrahim Hossain has been appointed as Assistant Public Prosecutor in the same tribunal.
7 people have been appointed as Additional Public Prosecutors in District and Sessions Judge Courts. They are Md. Yunus Mia Fitu, Moyez Uddin, Hasan Jamil Bablu, Alhaj Afzal Hossain, Rezaul Karim, Yusuf Ali and Akramul Islam.
9 people have been appointed as assistant public prosecutors in the same court. They are Molla Hasan Sharif, Zahir Zaman Jony, Farhad Hossain Milan, Moazzem Hossain, Tohrul Islam Islam Pintu, Shah Alam, Masir Ali, Masud Rana and Abul Kalam Azad.
In addition, Md. Mosaddek Hossain has been appointed as a public prosecutor in the district judge’s court. He joined the Bar Association in 1981.
2 people have been appointed as additional public prosecutors in the same court. They are Md. Khairul Islam and Aftab Uddin Mia.
Besides, 4 people have been appointed as assistant public prosecutors in this court. They are – Mst. Rahima Khatun, Md. Mahmudul Islam Konok, Masidul Islam and Nahid Ibn Mizan.
The newly appointed District and Sessions Judge PP Md. Abdul Wadud said, “PP is the agent of the state. I will do my duty conscientiously, aware of my position.”
As a criminal lawyer, he said, “PP’s responsibility is not to prepare cases. Those who conduct criminal cases on behalf of the state in district judicial courts are called PPs. Therefore, I will refrain from doing anything that may prejudice all criminal cases.”
He said that the litigants should not be harassed and that they will be diligent in resolving the case quickly with the combined efforts of the judiciary and the lawyers.
