A youth was stabbed to death at Chaklokman Colony under sadar upazila in Bogura on Saturday.

The deceased is identified as Jasim a painter by profession and son of Ruhul Amin of Chaklakman area.

The mystery of Jasim’s murder has been revealed. A young man named Rabbi became enraged by slapping his mother during the settlement meeting and stabbed Jasim to death. But the killer rabbi escaped. The police are conducting an operation to arrest him.

Confirming this information, SI Sajjad Hossain of Banani outpost said that the Rabbi and his associates had an argument with Jasim on Friday (July 7) in Chaklokmane over the cricket game among children.

After that, a meeting was organized near the two-storey mosque in the Chaklokman Colony area of the city at around 11:30 on Saturday to resolve the matter. During the settlement meeting, the argument started again between some of them.

The rabbi and his mother were present at that meeting. At one point in the speech, Jassim slapped the rabbi’s mother, causing tension. At this time, the rabbi took out a knife and put it on Jassim’s stomach and ran away.

Jasim was seriously injured. Then people rescued him and took him to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Jasim died while undergoing treatment there.

The dead body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy
